Who We Are

East Boston American Legion - Post 30

The American Legion is a longstanding, congressionally chartered Veterans Service Organization dedicated to serving veterans, military service members, and their families. In East Boston, our American Legion post has been recently resurrected by a group of passionate and dedicated local veterans. Although the post was defunct and inactive since 2003, our new and eager members are committed to reviving the organization and continuing its legacy of service to veterans and our community. We are co-located with our below partners and working to revitalize the once vibrant veteran’s community in East Boston.

The Rifle Project (Back to the Battlefield)

To date, the Rifle Project has returned over 60 Veterans back to their former battlefields in France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. These trips are all at NO COST to the veteran and one family member thanks to proceeds from Andrew Biggio’s books and private donations.

Italian American War Veterans (ITAM) - Post 6

The Italian American War Veterans of the United States is a distinguished national organization dedicated to serving all US Veterans and their families. Our chapter located in East Boston, Massachusetts, has been a cornerstone of support for veterans in our community for generations. Over the years, we have provided vital services, resources, and camaraderie to veterans and their families, fostering a strong sense of belonging and support.

New England Wounded Veterans Inc.

A Boston-based organization dedicated to the service and reintegration of our wounded veterans and their loved ones. Our flagship annual event, Boston’s Wounded Vet Run, is an annual motorcycle event dedicated to honoring and supporting wounded veterans. Through our signature motorcycle ride and associated events, we raise awareness and funds to provide essential services and resources to wounded veterans and their families. Since that first ride, we have committed ourselves to fostering a community of support, respect, and gratitude for those who have sacrificed for our nation. Every subsequent annual Boston’s Wounded Vet Run has been and will continue to be for other wounded veterans in need of similar assistance to improve their quality of life. We have since provided housing modifications, mobility and transportation devices, and other basic adjustments to improve daily life.
